I Have been drawing since an early age, I started by looking at things and drawing them, I got in trouble for drawing a picture of my history teacher on the desk in 7th grade, that is when I knew I wanted to be an artist. I liked to read Charlie Brown in the Sunday paper and draw the characters. In my teens I did occasional drawings and gave them away to friends, then after moving to California in 1980, I began to spend more time doodling and started to take it more seriously around 1986, I purchased high end drawing pads with handmade or rag paper and good quality art pens and then continued to create drawings and art to this day. Any training would have been standing at my Dads drafting table and watching him hand draw cartoons for the newspaper or a magazine, and as he would work he would explain various types of shading and linework etc. I picked up acrylic a number of years back, I tend to think of the painitngs as more a drawing I then hand colored because the images are all drawn on the canvas in pencil and then painted over, I have seen a number of painters simply use brush only to create an image, I tend to draw and then color. While we did have art classes in school back in the late 60's early 70's and I did participate, I think of myself as more self taught. The school officials were not to crazy with some of my ideas about art. :) Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
